An Introduction to Wine - 6 Week Course - 21/02/21 - 28/03/21

No one can ever know everything about wine. It’s a constantly evolving and growing industry. Once you know this, you are free!

The world of wine can seem really intimidating from the outside and one of our most loved parts of being Bottle is having the opportunity to break down some of the complications and misconceptions about wine with our customers.

Thus the Bottle Wine School is born!

Our first course, which is available to book here, will be a 6 week introduction to the world of wine. We’ll go through all the basics around winemaking, grape growing, wine tasting and general tips about how to buy and drink better wine - an invaluable skill. Over the course of the 6 weeks we’ll try 30 different wines carefully selected to give you a real world example of what we’ll be discussing in class.

Leading the course will be Jarlath; our shop manager who harbours many years experience training co-workers through Sommelier roles and introducing over 200 people to the world of wine through his many tastings over the course of 2021. Jarlath is a currently working towards his diploma at the WSET school in London, so you can rest assured you’re in expert hands with an educator striving to achieve the prestigious professional qualification.

This course is for anybody and everybody who wants to start, improve or refresh their knowledge of the greatest drink ever made (we went there). Absolutely no experience is necessary but a desire to learn is essential. The classes are super small and limited to 10 places only to make sure you get the best learning experience possible from your teacher.

All materials and wine costs will be covered in the fee paid before we commence so the only thing you’ll need to bring is yourself. Classes will be held at the Highgate Society on Monday evenings, start at 6.30pm and run for approx 2 hours each evening. By the end of the 6 weeks you’ll be able to happily discuss all aspects of the wine world be it in a shop, a restaurant, the supermarket or at the next dinner party with your pals.
